Event Description
Legend has it, every First Nations guitarist will begin by learning a Slim Dusty song - the result of Slim’s deep respect for the people he met and the communities he traversed in his more-than-half-a-century-long career.
This performance will pair fresh reimaginings from Slim’s extensive catalogue with original new songs by First Nations artists who were inspired - in part - by Australia’s King of Country Music.
The show is the culmination of a 12-month mentorship program involving musicians from Black Image Band, BullDust, and Topology. It will feature emerging talent from across North Queensland, performing alongside some of Australia's leading First Nations artists.
